If you are searching for a lively community filled with old cinematic charm and a rich history, the neighborhood of Kensington in San Diego should be at the top of your list. Located off of historic Adams Avenue, the neon sign leading into the neighborhood hints that living in Kensington apartments may offer more than expected.

Kensington apartments are a part of a community that was created from five real estate developments bearing the Kensington name: Kensington Park, Kensington Park Annex, Kensington Park Extension, Kensington Talmadge and Kensington Heights. The historic divisions of Kensington gained prominence after the last of the projects, Kensington Heights was created by real estate developer the Davis-Baker Company in 1926. Also, old Hollywood charm is evident in Kensington Talmadge, named after the silent screen legends, the Talmadge sisters.

Just because Kensington apartments are a part of one of San Diego's oldest communities does not mean the neighborhood is without a pulse. On the contrary, the Kensington social scene is bustling on a daily basis. With a famous cinema still active as well as other equally famous pubs, shops, and coffee houses, Kensington apartment living always offers an activity to engage in.

Not situated far from downtown San Diego, Kensington apartments are in close proximity to many major malls in the city. There is also a small business district along Adams Avenue where upstart businesses from flower shops to web design consulting services are located. Kensington has its own public library, community church and preschool.

So take in the beauty that Kensington has to offer. Lounge in its many cafes, dine on its various ethnic cuisines and relax at its famous movie house. Most of all enjoy the view from the community that sits on top of a mesa surrounded by canyons, overlooking a valley that catches the cool ocean breeze.
